Designing from the origins-online masterclass
Most of us solve problems in a straight line. We hit a challenge, we reach for the answer we always reach for. This masterclass breaks that line.
In two hours, you'll take a real challenge from your work, learn to ask a more original question about it, and walk away with a direction you couldn't have reached through your usual thinking. You don't need to be a designer. You need a real problem and a willingness to look at it differently.
This is the Origin8 Method, developed over eight years at the Gaudí Foundation, rooted in Gaudí's belief that "originality is going back to the origins." 🌿

🧭 What we'll actually do
You'll do the work alongside everyone else in the room, live.
We open with a short introduction to the Origin8 Method and the thinking behind it. Then we get to work. You'll write down a real challenge from your work and sketch a first solution to surface your default thinking. Then you'll reframe that challenge by asking one of the three teachers, Nature, Culture, or History, a more original question. You'll use AI as a research partner to find directions you'd never have reached alone, and translate one of them into a new sketch.
The whole exercise runs on a simple metaphor: imagining your challenge as a building. It keeps your thinking lateral instead of literal, and it unlocks possibilities your usual routine can't reach.
