Designing from the origins-online masterclass

​A guided online workshop that introduces the Origin8 Method through practice, not theory. Bring a real challenge from your work. In 90 minutes you will reframe it, ask one of the three teachers — Nature, Culture, or History — the right question, use AI as a research partner, and leave with a tangible new direction to take into your week. Ninety minutes online, with you doing the work alongside everyone else in the room.The masterclass opens with a short introduction to the Origin8 Method and its philosophy. Then we move into the exercise. You will write down a real challenge from your work, sketch a first solution to surface your default thinking, and then reframe the challenge by asking one of the three teachers — Nature, Culture, or History — a more original question. You will use AI as a research partner to find unexpected directions, then translate one of those directions into a second sketch.The exercise is built around a metaphor: imagining your challenge as a building. This keeps your thinking lateral rather than literal, and unlocks possibilities your usual problem-solving routine cannot reach.You leave with a tangible new direction, a reusable framework, and a different relationship to your work.
