Wine & Wander: A Photographer’s Journey Through Global Landscapes
Wine and photography have something in common: both have the power to transport you to a landscape — and to understand and appreciate it more deeply. Join nature photographers Alexandra Hehlen and Matt Makara for an evening that takes you on a sensorial journey through global landscapes.
The artists will pair wines with scenes from the regions that inspired them – from the forests of Germany to the valleys of Virginia, from the Slovenian countryside to the coasts of New Zealand, and the rugged and storied mountains of Patagonia and Switzerland. Each region, photographed through two distinct artistic visions, is brought further to life through a wine selected to evoke its character and terroir.
Alexandra's photography seeks out the familiar within the foreign — using the quiet geometry of remote landscapes to spark curiosity and build a genuine connection with the natural world. Matt brings a love of experimentation to his work, utilizing new and old photographic processes to capture trees, mountains, and water in a way that feels both adventurous and deeply still.
This is an evening for people who love nature, photography, good wine, and good conversation. Come wander with us.
