FLASH Holiday Wrap Up: Climate Cafe and Furoshiki, Conscious Gift Wrapping with Clementina
Join textile waste expert, fashion designer, filmmaker and social impact artist Clementina for this FLASH event at Sportsbasement Berkeley.
🗣️This is a hybrid event with the first half being a Climate Cafe. Enjoy hot cider while we decompress from the holiday hustle and chat.
🎁Second half of workshop is focused on going beyond traditional paper to explore beautiful, eco-friendly ways to present your gifts. Learn the elegant Japanese art of furoshiki (fabric wrapping) and discover several other creative, sustainable techniques using upcycled materials.

☕️Join us for some warm cider as you learn the skill of conscious gift wrapping. Save trees, textiles and landfill waste by learning this zero waste technique.
🎁🎁Get two square upcycled fabrics to use for gift wrapping; gift them as scarves or decorations to friends and family or keep😍.
**Climate Cafe & free workshop includes: Community chat, Educational talk & demo. Free hot cider & cookies. Bring (2) fabric pieces or scarves. Purchase of upcycled materials will be available. (Please bring your refillable cup or use our Paper cups for hot cider)
**Workshop does not include: boxes or presents to wrap. Please bring your own (2 items needed). Items to be wrapped must be small to medium size. You can also use any item that size to practice, rewrap later.

Eco Chill & Chat (Climate & holiday anxiety, Q & A with Clementina)
4:30p - Demo on Furoshiki wrapping and other conscious gift wrapping.
4:45p-5:30p - Craft your wrap. Select from a variety of upcycled scarves to purchase. Add twigs and adornments. Make art together.

***Don’t forget bring 1-2 items to wrap no bigger than a book size (small to medium) and/or refillable water bottle size.
