​Big Sur native Erin Lee Gafill is an award-winning writer, painter, and teacher with deep roots in the California art scene. Her vibrant oil paintings are inspired by the atmospheric light of the California Coast.

​Erin is the author of three books: Drinking from a Cold Spring, a Little Book of Hope; Color Duets; and a new biography of her great-great-grandmother, the artist Jane Gallatin Powers who had the first art studio in Carmel and was a key figure in establishing it as an artist colony.

​Gafill’s work has been featured in over seven museums, and is part of the Monterey Museum of Art’s permanent collection.

​She is an artist member of the Carmel Art Association.
