​A climate of change? Change is natures way, and amidst this critical moment in the balance of changes we have the power of story. Liberate the framing that has us stuck. Harvest the seeds of humanity’s creative potential. Celebrate the perseverance of life, in all its forms. Rewrite the script of this climate transition.

​Why now?

​Beyond the overwhelm lies a horizon where futures thrive and bloom. It’s a climate of change beckoning us to believe in positive futures, for the planet, its cities and for ourselves. Before the future becomes a reality, it is always first an idea. Hear and listen, make and collaborate, share and remix together, because each of us holds a piece of the vision of change. Travel together into the fun and the fears we face as the world we knew changes beyond our predictions. Reflect and ignite together as we change from dreamers to doers.

​In these times - when the dominant narratives breed a sense of despair, we rekindle and decolonize our imaginations, we practice returning the locus of our focus into our hearts, our hands and our creative practice. If we can’t imagine it we can’t move towards it. Those who shape the story shape the world.

​Held on Tuesday, at the beginning of Climate Week NY, we gather to set the tone, roll up our sleeves, embolden our vision and our voices for how we navigate these futures together.

​// Facilitators:

​Leah Lamb is a storyteller, author, and founder of The School for Sacred Story. Her work sits at the intersection of story, change, community, and our relationship with the natural world. She is the author of The Little Book of Change and founder of The Whale Council, which is exploring new ways of relating to and caring for whales and the places they call home. Leah brings two decades of experience in storytelling, community building, social impact campaign design, and environmental advocacy.

​Roxi Shohadaee is a regenerative designer, cultural ecologist, experiential producer and co-founder of Design Science Studio. Her work sits at the intersection of art, design, culture and systems change, cultivating regenerative futures through evolutionary experiences and creative community. She is the founder and CEO of habRitual and has helped grow Design Science Studio into a global ecosystem that has empowered more than 460 creatives across 50 countries to launch over 350 projects. Roxi brings 18 years of experience in creative production, sustainability, artivism, immersive experience design, community building and regenerative cultural practice to creating futures that work for ALL of Life.

​Mariette Papic is an American trans-disciplinary artist. Originally basing her practice in film photography Mariette was forced to confront the evolution of media in a heartfelt way. Using poetry and collage Mariette has increased her storytelling over the years so that her art includes events, installations and every other form of collage. Author of the Digital Nomad Manifesto, she has written extensively for curators, publications and other artists offering perspectives on everything from graffiti and music to culinary revolution.

​Brent "Mage" Hanvey known as Mage as an artist, is a curious lover of all cultures. He is considered to be a delegate of styles and a bridge builder between the traditional and futuristic.
His life has been dedicated to multi-faceted creative expression with a fascination of art and its ability to evoke emotion in the audience. With a simultaneous fascination from the Natural world, Mage hope to protect this planet and its Magic by combining concepts of elemental design in Nature with geometry and color to create artifacts of an imagined protopian mycobiosymbiote.
Creations that communicate far beyond what words are limited to though sometimes expressed as poetry in prose over the rhythm of a synthesized, semi organic drum rhythms.

​Andy Lin [DSS Alumni] National Geographic Traveler award-winning photographer, patented inventor, and creator/creative director of the Self-Portrait Project – a visual art + archive endeavor which since 2009 has utilized a two-way mirror and remote control to empower people in the creation of their own images.

​Lucian Tarnowski [DSS pARTner] is the Founding Creator of United Planet and curator of the UP Game - a time traveling immersive experience designed to enable teams to create stories, strategies and solutions from a thriving future.

​Eva Frye [DSS Alumni] Founder of Climate Shifted; whale artivist. Climate Shifted is an Ambies-nominated podcast about what actually works to move people on climate. Eva works with the emotion of awe to help people fall in love with whales — so they want to protect them.

​Elisa Blynn is a multidisciplinary transformational artist and creative healing arts facilitator.  Mz. Blynn received her B.A. in Performing Arts from University of Florida and arrived in NYC  in 1996, making her niche performing in world premiere ensemble plays and originating roles  in NYC's independent theater and film communities.
