Aligning AI Safety with Earth: Salon

​AI’s energy use is well discussed, yet the values AI models themselves prioritize could be vastly consequential on climate and nature—especially as AI systems become increasingly powerful and agentically autonomous.

​This intimate salon will bring together a brain trust to explore how to ensure stewardship of Earth systems can become an explicit consideration in AI foundation model safety, training, evaluation, governance, and alignment research.

​Following from work via the Earth Alignment Project and the National Academy of Sciences, we invite leaders from across businesses, philanthropy, civil society to consider: How should increasingly capable AI systems account for the long-term stewardship of the Earth systems that underpin human thriving? How might we get stewardship prioritized in the mainstream AI Safety and Alignment agenda and movement?

​Capacity for this session is limited to ensure targeted conversation in our 90-minute window. No panel, this is a collective conversation and working group to set forth the opportunity and have participants input into prioritized values and approaches for aligning AI. Light food and beverage refreshments will be served.
