Love and Fear in a Warming World
Watch the full film: https://vimeo.com/1092852064
How do we navigate the emotions that come with climate change - fear, hope, uncertainty? And how can these emotions spur personal and collective climate action? Love and Fear in a Warming World is a 90-minute participatory experience that uses creative expression to help people reconnect with their values, their sense of purpose, and a shared climate-conscious community.
Through free writing, poetry, storytelling and shared reflection, participants explore what they love, what they fear losing, and how those feelings might become meaningful action. No artistic experience is needed. Past participants - from members of the UK Parliament to NGO and business leaders, artists, educators and climate-concerned citizens across India, Europe and the US - have described leaving with less climate anxiety, more clarity, and a deeper sense of connection to the climate movement.
Co-created by Slam Out Loud and Climate Shift, the workshop will be facilitated in person by Jigyasa Labroo. Slam Out Loud has brought arts-based learning to 2.5 million children in India and recently completed an RCT with researchers from Harvard and the Max Planck Institute showing how the arts can move children from helplessness to climate agency.
