​All civilizational abundance and prosperity is downstream of energy availability and price. There is simply no such things as an energy-poor rich country in the history of the world, and the explosion of quality of living and civilization made possible by the industrial revolution is entirely thanks to the energy density of hydrocarbons.

​Is that it? Hydrocarbons forever? No, emphatically no - but the energy demands of a nascent space-faring civilization are so varied that its likely there will always be a grid composition, across renewables, nuclear, hydrocarbons, and whatever new things humanity can devise in the future.

​This event will cover fundamental power generation methods with an eye to operating economics and the holy grail of econometric measures; Levelized Cost of Energy. We will also look at the grid infrastructure required to match the supply and demand for enegy, and, understand how energy might fundamentally be the best basis on which to structure our entire economy.
