About Event

What to Expect

Join us for a special weekend developer experience! We're long time San Diego developers, looking to fostering a community of devs of all skill levels to have fun, network, and learn new things!

Connect

For this monthly meetup, we gather for lunch to introduce ourselves and enjoy complimentary food and drinks.

Inspire

After networking lunch, we start a series of presentations from members of the community to share interesting developer topics.

Build

Once presentations are finished, we break into groups to casually network, show off our projects and build together!

Reminders

Please be courteous and respectful to others.

Laptops are encouraged. Should you be giving a presentation or want to share a project, your laptop is essential. We are developers, let’s build together

Feel free to ask our organizers for help on some code you're struggling with, if you are! We're happy to help where we can.

Speaker Topics

Should You Build It? – Jonathan Lewis

AI lets engineers ship faster than ever, but you can go fast in any direction. How do you know you're moving in the right one? This talk walks through a lightweight validation playbook for proving demand before you write a line of application code: framing the problem, identifying who feels it, writing copy that earns attention, and converting interest into waitlist signups. You'll leave with a repeatable way to pressure-test an idea, plus a built-in audience for customer discovery the moment you decide it's worth building.

My Journey Creating Glider Sim: A Planetary-Scale Flight Simulator – Joey Sipos

In this presentation, independent developer Joey Sipos shares his journey into VR development using the Unity Game Engine, ultimately leading to the creation of Glider Sim, a flight simulator now played by thousands around the world. Focused on realistic paragliding and hang gliding, the talk covers how Cesium and Google Photorealistic 3D Tiles transformed the project from traditional localized terrain into a planet-scale flight simulator where players can fly anywhere on Earth.
