The Repair Movement: Mend Together

Join us for an afternoon of mending, learning, and connecting at the Felton Branch Library.
Bring something torn, worn, or missing a button and spend some time learning how to give it a little more life. Local menders from our community will be on hand to share their skills, troubleshoot repairs, and help you get started.
No sewing experience is needed. Come with a repair project, a question, or simply a willingness to learn.
And bring the kids! The Felton Branch Library is a wonderful place for families, with Felton Discovery Park right on the grounds. Kids are welcome to join in the mending, learn a new skill, work alongside the grown-ups, or take a break to play and explore. All ages and experience levels are welcome.
Please RSVP so we know how many people to expect and can plan accordingly.
MEND.
Bring a small clothing repair project such as a torn seam, missing button, small hole, or loose hem. We’ll do our best to help with repairs, but volunteers may not be able to accommodate every project.
LEARN.
Repair is a skill, but it’s also a way of thinking. Together, we’ll share practical knowledge and learn from the people in our community who know how to fix, mend, and make things last.
BE IN COMMUNITY.
Mend Together is a community-led gathering rooted in sharing skills, learning from one another, and reconnecting with the things we already have.
Come mend something, learn something new, meet a local mender, or simply spend an afternoon in good company.

WHAT TO BRING
A clothing repair project you'd like help with. Please keep projects manageable enough to work on during the gathering.
You’re also welcome to bring your own basic sewing supplies if you have them, though some materials and tools will be available.
PHOTOGRAPHY NOTICE
Photography and videography will be conducted at the event. By registering, you consent to recordings being used for promotional purposes. If you prefer not to be photographed or recorded, please let an event organizer know when you arrive.
ABOUT THE REPAIR MOVEMENT
The Repair Movement (TRM) is a community-led initiative bringing repair, reuse, and shared knowledge back into everyday life.
We’re interested in connecting people with the fixers, makers, and skilled hands within our communities and creating more opportunities to learn from one another.
WE BELIEVE
Repair is knowledge meant to be shared— a bridge between generations, where skills are passed down, not lost.
The intention is to grow, community by community, into a wider movement that brings repair culture, practical skills, and resourcefulness back into everyday life.
