What This Is
Turbine runs 15-minute BTC prediction markets: up or down, every 15 minutes. You build a trading bot that makes predictions automatically. Then you deploy it to Railway (free cloud hosting) and it keeps trading after you go home.
No quant background needed. No crypto wallet required (there's a cashier on-site). Claude Code does the heavy lifting. You describe what you want the bot to do, it builds it, you ship it.
90% of people from the last Turbine hackathon still have their bots running. That's the point. This isn't a workshop where you build something and leave it on your desktop. You leave with a running bot.
What You'll Build
A Python trading bot that:
Connects to Turbine's API
Makes trades every 15 minutes
Runs in Railway's cloud so you're not chained to your laptop
Once deployed, you're automatically entered into the weekly competition. $200/week in prizes: $100 for top trading PnL, $100 for top liquidity providing. Prizes go out every Wednesday at 10 AM. Your bot competes whether you're there or not.

FAQ
Do I need crypto experience? No. The bot handles the mechanics. You just decide the strategy. Many of the best traders from the last event had zero crypto background.
Do I need to be a quant or know finance? No. If you can vibe-code in Python, you're qualified. If you're newer, Claude Code does most of the heavy lifting anyway.
How much does this cost? Free. Turbine covers the venue, food, and snacks.
What do I actually walk away with? A live trading bot deployed in the cloud, actively competing in Turbine's weekly markets. Not a toy. Not a tutorial. A running bot.
Will I keep up? Yes. The setup is self-serve, the docs are clear, and technical support is on-site. Most people get a bot deployed within a couple of hours, if not less!
Can online people participate too? Yes. The weekly leaderboard is open to anyone. If you can't make it in person, you can still get set up and enter the competition.
The Weekly Competition
