About Event

About the Session:

The climate conversation has shifted. We’re no longer debating whether climate change is real, but we are seeing a rise in delay tactics: “it’s too costly,” “it will hurt the economy,” “it can wait.” These narratives shape markets, policy, and public opinion, even as the financial costs of inaction climb into the billions each year.
In this session, we’ll explore what’s happening in the world of climate today, where science and economy intersect, and what risks and opportunities leaders need to know. Then we’ll look at how misinformation is shaping the conversation and share practical strategies to spot it early and respond with confidence. You’ll leave with a clear snapshot of the climate landscape and simple tools to cut through the noise.

About the Host:

My name is Blessing Oluloto, a project manager & social responsibility researcher based in Ontario, Canada. I work across multiple domains of social architecture by spotting social issues, then designing solutions to address them; whether that’s building a climate misinformation toolkit with the City of Hamilton' Office of Climate Change Initiatives, or building data systems at CAP Canada to help families access debt freedom with dignity. My work lives at the intersection of governance, community development, & trust.

When I’m not working, you’ll probably find me wandering through thrift shops (proof that old things deserve a second chance), playing the same five chords on my piano with undeserved enthusiasm, or yapping about God knows what with my friends & family over tea. I often daydream about how cities can flourish when people seek the good of their neighbours. That vision is what grounds my work: helping communities prosper with truth, stability, and trust.

You can find me on LinkedIn where I share things I find intriguing about my social impact work in Canada.

Optional Attendee Prep:

Bring one climate communication challenge you’re facing or the strangest climate fact you’ve ever heard. We’ll use these as live examples to test the frameworks together and keep the session both practical and fun.
