AI 101: We need to talk about AI + Data Privacy (Online)
In this session:
AI & Your Privacy is a candid, accessible conversation about who is collecting your data, how AI systems use it — and what you can actually do about it. We'll explore whether your data is truly private on free AI platforms, unpack the difference between data privacy and data sovereignty, and compare tools built with your rights in mind versus those that aren't.
We'll also tackle a question more and more creators, entrepreneurs, and professionals are asking: what happens to your intellectual property when you use AI to build it? When you feed your business ideas, creative work, or proprietary strategies into a free AI tool, who really owns the output — and could your content end up training someone else's model? We'll explore the real implications of using AI for IP development and what precautions you should be taking right now.
No paranoia, no jargon — just clarity, practical strategies, and honest discussion about one of the most urgent digital rights issues of our time. Come curious. Leave in control.
Let's discuss emerging data privacy challenges posed by AI and practical strategies to protect yourself
Possible conversations around:
Am I being tracked by AI, browsers? How could I mitigate??
Is your data private from future training modules when on a FREE plan?
Define Data privacy vs sovereignty - Is this a hot topic for you?
Disabling Google -ai mode
Proton - data privacy
FYI Cohere launched Tiny Aya: an open-source multilingual AI that supports 70+ languages and runs entirely offline on devices. No cloud required. No API fees.
Swiss AI (Euria): zero data collection, locally hosted, powered by 100% renewable energy, and servers that heat thousands of homes. More
vs Duck.ai: uses external AI providers (OpenAI, Meta) — data may be processed by them vs Euria: No data stored; Swiss privacy laws apply; both claim zero tracking
Cohere - Canada's AI LLM - more enterprise focused
Who This Is For
Anyone curious about the potential and concerned about AI
We intend to offer a safe, inclusive space to explore these questions. Together, we’ll unpack your concerns and hopes alike - share relevant info to help you make informed decisions about AI.
What to Expect in the Group Session

** Feel free to attend any of the sessions **
AI 101: no pre-requisites. Come as you are to group learn and participate.
AI 201 - builds on AI 101 sessions / have decent AI LLM literacy.
Each session has a different focus and will do my best to bridge any gaps already covered
What This Course Isn’t
This isn’t an AI 101 or a how-to on prompting tools. This session will focus on mindset: understanding your concerns and exploring whether AI can align with your values.
Note - We do offer separate sessions on AI implications on our society - data privacy, environmental etc - Consider signup for those sessions as well as we don't have enough time to cover the theme of this session and those bigger picture questions as well.
