Design your own Ceramic Tools using 3D printing!
Curious about bringing digital design into your ceramic practice? This beginner-friendly workshop introduces the fundamentals of 3D modeling through the creation of custom tools for clay. Using Fusion 360, participants will learn how to navigate a 3D workspace, create sketches, build simple forms, and prepare designs for 3D printing.
The class will focus on designing either a custom pattern stamp for creating surface textures or a simple press mold for forming clay. Along the way, we'll explore how digital fabrication can expand traditional ceramic processes and open new possibilities for making.
No prior experience with 3D modeling is required. Participants must bring a laptop capable of running Fusion 360, as all design work will be completed during the workshop.
By the end of the session, you'll leave with a digital design ready for 3D printing and a foundation for incorporating digital tools into your ceramic practice.
