About Event

In this session, Roboflow Engineer Riaz Virani will share a fun and practical computer vision application, Hydrovisor, that validates a simple human action: drinking water.

This webinar provides a detailed look at how to build and deploy CV models for real-time process monitoring, using Hydrovisor as a working example. We will cover:

  • Model Training and Comparison: How Riaz trained custom vision models to detect the cup and the drinking action, including a comparison of performance using architectures like YOLO and RF-DETR.

  • Backend Logic: The essential logic required for the application to function—specifically, detecting an event (drinking) and triggering a response (resetting the hydration timer).

  • Web Deployment: A practical overview of deploying the custom computer vision app directly in web browsers using inference.js.

  • Industrial Applications: We'll show how the core technical principles of this project transition to high-value industrial use cases, such as monitoring manufacturing assembly and validating safety compliance.

Learn the technical foundation for building systems that improve processes and increase safety across any domain.

Every Thursday at 11am ET / 8am PT we dive into the world of computer vision and explore new tools, interesting projects, and tutorials. This webinar is open to everyone, we hope to see you there!

We'll also make time at the end for open Q&A.
