Fran is a Node.js core contributor and elected member of the Node.js Technical Steering Committee. She was a compiler engineer on the Chrome V8 team, where her main focus was on performance improvements.

​This session provides the architectural blueprint for the modern, tool-using AI agent. We will introduce the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the open standard that allows AI agents to securely interact with external tools. We’ll look at both Gemini CLI, an open source AI agent that provides access to Gemini directly in your terminal, as well as how to build your own agents with Agent Development Kit (ADK). You will learn how an MCP server acts as this crucial bridge, giving the agent the tools to perform complex tasks.
