Virtual Intro to Firearms Safety & IL Law

​In this class you’ll learn how to identify different types of firearms as well as how to operate and store them safely. We’ll also cover the relevant laws in Illinois, how to legally purchase a firearm, and basic emergency first-aid.

​This is the virtual version of our in-person "Intro to Firearms Safety & Illinois Law" class. It will be hosted on Discord, and you will need to sign up for a Discord account in order to access the live stream.

​No experience or prior knowledge is expected. If you’ve never even seen a gun in person before, this is the class for you!

​This class is taught by one of our volunteer instructors. All proceeds from the registration costs support the operations of Pink Pistols Chicago, a charitable not-for-profit registered in Illinois.

​There will be a slideshow presentation with several live demonstrations using unloaded firearms or replicas.

• ​Common firearm malfunctions

• ​Gun purchasing logistics

• ​Legality of defensive use of force

• ​Justice system interactions

​This class includes a small section about mental wellness as it relates to firearms and we will discuss the topic of self-harm. We will announce when this section is going to start if you need to excuse yourself during this portion of the class.
