Frugal Innovation Dialogues - Unlocking practical, scalable solutions for equitable education
Reach to Teach Foundation (RTT) is hosting this roundtable to bring together practitioners, thinkers, and system leaders to explore how frugal innovation can transform the entire education ecosystem in underserved communities. The dialogue examines integrated approaches that focus on strengthening nutrition in early years, cognitive and tactical learning, and workforce skilling, while rethinking the role of teachers and teaching capabilities in marginalised contexts - whether due to geographic isolation or systemic barriers.
RTT provides government-scale evidence with 8M+ students reached across three states, including all 3,061 schools in Arunachal Pradesh. It offers frugal innovation methodologies from India's toughest geographies, ready for replication in Africa, Southeast Asia, and Latin America, addressing fiscal realities like India's ₹6,879 per child annual spend, amid crises where 55% of Class 5 students can't read Class 2 text.
Why Attend
The dialogue will focus on practical, resource-conscious solutions for low-resourced Government schools, including the innovative use of locally available materials and frugal AI models designed to function effectively in low-tech or no-tech environments. We will talk about equipping young people with the skills, mindsets, and adaptive capacities needed to thrive in an uncertain, interconnected world and contribute meaningfully.
