Open Lab: October 1st, 2025 – Movement, Multi-cam setup
At last Wednesday’s lab, Jason unveiled a three–Raspberry Pi setup, each running the Mediapipe AI library to transform webcam video into live pose data. Together, they form a multi-camera motion capture system that boosts accuracy and reduces occlusion. Honestly, I didn’t think it was possible, but he made it work.
This week, we’ll take the next step: attempting to visualize the combined live stream data in real time.
Alongside the camera experiments, we’ll continue our embodied movement practices, keeping the body at the center. And also inviting technology in as a partner that can expand, question, and reframe our experience.
Open Lab is a space for curiosity, experimentation, and collective ideation. Come move, sense, and play with us as we blur the boundaries between body, imagination, and machine.
Space is limited to 15 participants due to the size of the room. Please register in advance to reserve your spot.
