In 2013, the SimCity team began working on an expansion pack for the game, called "Cities of Tomorrow". To do this, they needed to make predictions about technologies and trends that would shape cities over the next 3-4 decades. They looked at power generation, waste systems, transportation, resource extraction, health and safety, education, and more.

In this talk, Stone Librande, the Lead Designer of the project, will review the choices that were made back then and the reasoning behind their decisions. It's now 12 years later. How well did the predictions hold up?
