About Event

SWAP. MEND. LEARN. BE IN COMMUNITY.

FREE | ALL WELCOME

Join us for an afternoon in the beautiful Santa Cruz Mountains swapping clothes, learning simple mending skills, and connecting with people who believe the things we already have are worth holding on to — or passing along to a neighbor.

Please RSVP so we know how many people to expect and can plan accordingly.

SWAP.

Bring clean, wearable clothes and shoes you no longer wear and find something new-to-you to take home. Give something you love a second life — and maybe find something you’ll love, too.

MEND.

Bring something torn, worn, or missing a button. Local menders from our community will be on hand to share their skills, troubleshoot repairs, and help you give your clothes a little more life. Come with a repair project, a question, or simply a willingness to learn.

LEARN.

Repair is a skill, but it’s also a way of thinking. Throughout the afternoon, we’ll share practical knowledge and explore how small acts of care can help us rethink what we buy, what we keep, and what we throw away.

BE IN COMMUNITY.

This is a community-led gathering rooted in sharing, learning, and connection. Come swap something, mend something, learn something new, or simply spend an afternoon with people who are rethinking our relationship with what we already have.

IMPORTANT DETAILS TO KEEP IN MIND

SWAP & REPAIR RULES

Please bring clean, wearable clothing and shoes in good condition to swap. Items should be free of stains, strong odors, excessive wear, or significant damage. Please only bring items you would feel good about passing along to someone else.

For mending, bring a small clothing repair project such as a torn seam, missing button, or small hole. We’ll do our best to help with repairs, but volunteers may not be able to accommodate every project.

PHOTOGRAPHY NOTICE

Photography and videography will be conducted at the event. By registering, you consent to recordings being used for promotional purposes. If you prefer not to be photographed or recorded, please let an event organizer know when you arrive.

ABOUT THE REPAIR MOVEMENT

The Repair Movement (TRM) is a community-led initiative bringing repair, reuse, and shared knowledge back into the forefront of everyday life. We’re interested in connecting people with the fixers, makers, and skilled hands within our communities — and creating more opportunities to learn from one another.

WE BELIEVE
Repair is both a radical act and a practical one.
It’s how we reduce waste, build skills, and reconnect with the people around us.

And what better place to start than with the clothes already in our closets?
This first gathering centers on clothing reuse, bringing people together to swap what they no longer need, learn simple mending skills, and discover the people and resources in our community who can help us keep what we have in use for longer.
