EARTH AS ONE BODY - AI, climate, and the science of a planet becoming one system
What AI alignment and climate research have in common: both are the same problem, a planet learning to act as one body. This evening presents the science behind that claim, from evolutionary biology and systems research, in one hour of clear explanation with no prior knowledge needed.
Astronauts who see Earth from orbit describe a shift that never leaves them, the overview effect: the planet suddenly readable as one living body, borders invisible. This evening builds the same shift from the ground, with science instead of a rocket.
And you will not only listen. After the main talk by Nyx Redondo (planetary systems research), an AI safety research director from the UK takes the same question into her field, ten minutes on identity, trust and memory in AI systems. Then the room takes over: open questions, and small working groups where every group leaves one concrete written proposal on the table.
The evening closes with the founding of the Earth circle, a standing working group open across communities, where those proposals keep living. What is written that night does not end that night.
