Where Black Futures Take Root: A Black Climate Wellness Gathering
Join Black Girl Environmentalist, the Compton Community Garden, and Black Women for Wellness for a community centered wellness gathering to close out Black History Month and Black Climate Week.
This event is an invitation to rest, reconnect, and care for ourselves while deepening our relationship with the land and with one another. In the midst of climate crisis, social upheaval, and collective exhaustion, we believe wellness, joy, and community are essential forms of climate action.
We will gather at the garden to share nourishing food, move our bodies gently through yoga, experience sound healing, listen to local artists, connect with local organizers and activists, and spend time together outdoors. We will also hold space to talk about how climate collapse is already impacting our communities and why climate justice is essential to Black futures.
Come as you are.
Date: Saturday, February 28
Time: 1:00–6:00 PM
