Buying Time: How Converged Security Strategies Improve Outcomes During Active Threat Events

Security incidents are often judged by response time, but what happens before responders arrive can be just as critical.

Effective organizations do not rely on a single control or discipline. They rely on layers of security working together across multiple domains including cyber security, information security, physical security, executive protection, corporate security, and investigations.

This session explores how layered security strategies can delay adversaries, reduce impact, and improve outcomes during high-risk incidents.

Through real-world examples and practical discussion, participants will examine how different security functions operate as part of an integrated defensive system. From digital detection and information security controls to physical barriers, personnel, and response coordination, each layer contributes to creating time and reducing risk.

Attendees will gain a framework for evaluating security measures across disciplines and identifying opportunities to strengthen resilience across complex organizations and facilities.

This session is valuable for professionals working in:

• Cybersecurity and incident response
• Digital forensics and investigations
• Corporate and enterprise security
• Physical security and executive protection
• Information security and risk management
• Law enforcement and intelligence
• Students pursuing careers in security and investigations

Security today is no longer siloed.

It is converged, layered, and interconnected.

Understanding how these layers work together can make the difference between a contained incident and a catastrophic one.

Join us as we explore how security professionals across disciplines can design strategies that create the one resource every organization needs during a crisis:

Time.
