From Lab to ULB: Making Waste & Wastewater Innovations Procurement-Ready in Tamil Nadu

​Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) are at the frontline of the country’s most pressing civic challenges and the growing ecosystem of startups and research institutions have the capability to provide promising innovations to address these challenges. However, innovations developed in labs or at the prototype stage seldom find their way into actual ULB deployment. This focused half-day convening, organised by Villgro in partnership with ICCW (IIT Madras) and Socratus Foundation, with support from ANDE, provides an opportunity to work towards bridging that gap by facilitating discussions on ULB requirements and startup’s procurement worthiness.

​The event brings together approximately 50 participants including early-stage and commercial-stage startups, ULB officials, researchers, and ecosystem partners for structured, action-oriented working sessions.
