About Event

Sediment Stories is a series of conversations about sediments - from creation to extraction.

Join us for the tenth conversation in this series, where we will be talking to Tarun Nair. Tarun is a conservation biologist with an affinity for crocodilians and rivers. He leads Programme Makara at the Wildlife Conservation Trust.

His work has largely focused on understanding the conservation needs of gharials in North-Central India, particularly along the Chambal, Son and Gandak Rivers. He is also interested in human-wildlife interactions, conservation philosophy, policy, and the human impacts on wildlife and ecosystems.

Tarun will be speaking about how flow regimes shape river ecosystems and species ecologies, from a Gharial's perspective.
