The impact of AI on creation (The AI Collective x /interface)
When does technology stop being a tool, and become the creator itself?
Join us at Whimsy Works gallery in Taipei for an evening panel on the most human question in AI right now: what happens to creativity when artists work with technologies that embed such strong creative propositions?
On Monday August 24th, three Taiwanese artists sit down together for the first time to talk openly about how AI has actually entered their creative process: where it helps, where it challenges them, and where they draw the line between "I create" Vs "The AI creates".
SPEAKERS
Simple Noodle Art
Simple Noodle Art is an art collective founded by Chen Zi-Yin and Chuang Hsiang-Feng in 2019. They use diverse media, including installation, video, photography, and AI. With backgrounds in art and computer science respectively, they explore the interaction between technology and humans, and how such interactions transform contemporary ways of living. Through interdisciplinary thinking, they aim to create works like simple noodles with simple ingredients, but with an amazing taste.
Simple Noodle Art is the recipient of the Prix Ars Electronica Honorable Mention (2023), and their works have been exhibited at venues including Ars Electronica Festival, LEV Festival, Jut Art Museum, National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, Taiwan Contemporary Culture Lab, and Museum of Contemporary Art Taipei.
Yen Tzu Chang
Yen Tzu Chang (張晏慈) is a Taiwan-based new media artist and sound artist. She holds a BA in New Media Art from Taipei National University of the Arts and an MA in Interface Culture from Kunstuniversität Linz (2018). Her practice explores life's essence through philosophy and science, fusing art, programming, and technical media into interdisciplinary works and sound-based experimental performances. Some pieces use ready-made objects and DIY techniques, but the heart of her work is play: interactivity and shifting participants' roles. She has shown work internationally at Ars Electronica, roBOt 08, Linux Audio Conference, ISEA, Digital Design Weekend London, and Most Wanted: Music Berlin.
MODERATOR
New Yellow is a Taiwanese artist working with code, software, and generative processes. He has been exploring interactive new media since 2014 and AR since 2017, as a Meta Spark official teaching partner in Taiwan and winner of several Meta global contests. Since 2021 he has focused on blockchain and crypto art, releasing works via fxhash, Objkt, and Teia. His work has been exhibited at MoCA Taipei and Jut Museum. He was also the only Asian finalist in the Combine24 Generative Art Contest organized by the Finnish National Gallery.
WHAT WE'LL EXPLORE
→ How AI actually enters a creative process, from first prompt to finished work
→ What new perspectives does AI as a technology open up for artists
→ Where the artist's hand survives in machine-made images, and where it disappears.
→ What these artists love, fear, or refuse about AI
→ What AI does to authorship, craft, and the social life of art
WHO SHOULD COME
Artists, designers, musicians, writers, AI developers and anyone curious about the place of humans, and especially creators, in a post-AI world. No technical background needed.

作品曾於 Ars Electronica、roBOt 08、Linux Audio Conference、ISEA、倫敦 Digital Design Weekend 及 Most Wanted: Music Berlin 等國際場合展出。
