About Event

Hosted by Chargerzilla Climate Week NYC 2026 – Official Event

New York City is racing toward an electrified transportation future — but public charging alone cannot meet the scale of demand. Thousands of private driveways, garages, multifamily lots, hotels, and business parking spaces across the five boroughs represent one of the city’s most powerful yet underutilized climate assets.

EV Charging Access for All This means making electric‑vehicle charging available, affordable, and convenient for everyone, regardless of income level, neighborhood, or housing type. It emphasizes fairness and inclusivity.

Equity & Community Charging in NYC This highlights the focus on equitable infrastructure — ensuring underserved and historically overlooked communities in New York City also receive reliable charging options. “Community charging” refers to chargers placed in public, shared, or neighborhood‑based locations (curbside, municipal lots, multifamily housing, community centers, etc.) rather than only private or commercial sites.

We’re convening expert speakers across public agencies, startups, and clean‑tech innovators to explore how community‑driven charging can expand access in underserved neighborhoods and accelerate New York City’s transition to an electric future.

Why This Matters

Community charging is the missing link in NYC’s electrification strategy. By activating chargers that already exist — and empowering residents and businesses to participate — the city can rapidly expand access, support climate goals, and build a more resilient, equitable charging ecosystem.

Join Chargerzilla and regional leaders as we chart a bold, community‑driven approach to powering New York’s clean mobility future.
