Quantum Café Berlin
Quantum computing, quantum sensing, and the nuances of tech transfer from a lab to an industrial application will be the main topics discussed at this iteration of the Quantum Café.
While the Quantum Café is usually a scientific discussion among friends and colleagues, this time we will both discuss science and ask VCs questions on how to bridge scientific thinking with an investor mindset. We will host a panel discussion allowing just that.
Scientists:
Dr. Kevin Mato*
(NVIDIA, Technische Universität München)*
Kevin works at the intersection of quantum hardware and software, exploring how quantum computers can become usegul, efficient and reliable. His talk will be on "Taming the Qubit: Basics of Quantum Computer Calibration"
Dr. Ingmari Tietje
(Quantum Café Co-founder, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Technische Universität Berlin, CERN)
Ingmari is an experimental physicist focused on a range of topics, from atomic clocks during her postdoctoral work at HU Berlin, to characterising non-neutral antiproton-electron plasmas in the AEgIS collaboration during her doctoral studies at CERN. Her talk is titled "Quantum Computers vs. Quantum Sensors."
Dr. Jana Lehner
(Science2Business, Quantum Brilliance, Bitkom)
Jana is a key figure in the Berlin deep tech community, an enthusiast of translating science to business, and a coach and mentor for deep tech founders taking the leap from scientific discipline to ventures. Her talk will be on principles of "Science2Business"
Venture Capitalists:
Panel discussion : "Scientists ask questions to VCs"
Berlin-based investors join in on the conversation, sharing insights on tech transfer, and personal experiences in deep tech investments. Moderated by Dr. Jana Lehner
Jonas Sommer, Principal at Deeptech & Climate Fonds
Cindy Wei, Associate at Lunar Ventures
Sarah Luna Mongin, Scout at First Momentum Ventures
Markus Kazmaier, Associate at LBBW VC
