Session II: In many verticals the fastest route to impact and returns is roll-ups and platform plays. Stitching together local, labour-intensive businesses into a single, high-efficiency platform that scales unit economics and execution. We’ll focus on concrete vertical playbooks — e.g., consolidating regional heat-pump and insulation installers to standardise permitting, procurement and technician training; rolling up small commercial solar O&M and asset-servicing firms to centralise spare-parts logistics and SLA management; and aggregating EV charging installers + site-development specialists to create one-stop deployment teams with embedded financing. The session will dig into the real operational value-drivers, the KPIs to track , and common integration traps that destroy value post-acquisition.
Takeaway question: Which climate subsectors are primed for buy-and-build, and what operational capabilities separate successful platforms from failed roll-ups?
