Demo Day : MTIC Accelerator Program Uganda
The MTIC Accelerator Program, a three-month accelerator for growth-stage Ugandan startups, is an initiative of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives (MTIC), funded by JICA, and implemented in partnership with AAIC and Hindsight Ventures. The program was launched on 18 August 2025.
Cohort 2 and Cohort 3 ran in parallel:
Cohort 2: ConsumerTech, FinTech, ICT, and Mobility
Cohort 3: Agritech, Agribusiness, and HealthTech
The program went live on 13 October. As part of the immersion component, 10 startups visited Dar es Salaam from 17–19 November 2025 for an international immersion program focused on engaging with corporates, local startups, innovation hubs, and investors. Another group of 10 startups visited Kigali, Rwanda, from 19–22 November 2025 to participate in Africa Week by Norrsken.
The MTIC Accelerator culminates in a grand, in-person, invitation-only Demo Day held in Kampala, where a cohort of 12 startups across HealthTech, FinTech, ICT, ConsumerTech, and Mobility will present their ventures to an audience comprising industry leaders, investors, experienced founders and operators, and media representatives.
The Demo Day will also provide an overview of the program and its impact, including a montage video capturing key founder learnings and takeaways. It will serve as a platform to attract strategic partnerships and investment, supporting both program validation and investment decision-making.
The event will conclude with a closing address by MTIC, sharing insights and key takeaways from the program and reinforcing MTIC’s thought leadership in shaping Uganda’s startup policy and enabling the local ecosystem through high-impact initiatives.
