This ongoing series blends short talks, project shares, and group discussions with plenty of time to connect. Sessions vary each time, and are facilitated by Eric Bastoul, Principal at Topsis Energy, with global DER and microgrid experience.
This month we’re excited to host Liam O’Brien! Liam is a senior sales engineer at GridVest, where he's scaling technical sales and operations for C&I solar + storage at the intersection of distribution and finance. With nearly a decade in renewables, including building Sol-Ark's C&I product line from the ground up, he's lived every stage of the value chain: starting in engineering and installation, moving through manufacturing, and now helping developers and installers bring projects to market.
In this session, Liam will demystify the critical but often-overlooked controls layer that makes DERs and microgrids actually work—diving into the edge hardware, standards based protocols, and system integration that separate projects that perform from those that underperform.
