The Art of Becoming
The Art of Becoming is a visual poetry gallery exploring faith, identity, and the modern self.
Featuring poets Elizabeth Shanaz and Suchita Senthil Kumar, the evening brings together poetry, language, and visual storytelling to reflect on what it means to grow, unlearn, and exist between tradition and reinvention. Through layered texts, multilingual expression, and embodied performance, the works navigate religion, pop culture, memory, and the quiet tensions between who we are taught to be and who we are becoming.
Set within a gallery-style format, The Art of Becoming invites viewers to move slowly — to read, listen, and sit with fragments of belief, doubt, devotion, and selfhood. The night will close with an open space for other poets to perform their work, creating a shared moment of reflection and collective becoming.
The evening will also include an intimate Q&A with the poets, moderated by Ashni Mehta, offering insight into their creative processes, influences, and the personal journeys behind their work.
A space for those interested in poetry, art, identity, and the beauty of becoming unfinished.
