WorldID at NorthWestern
So Human is representing World.org on campus! WorldID is a new, privacy-preserving digital identity that helps distinguish real people from bots online. In an age where AI-generated content is everywhere, platforms are beginning to adopt tools that require “proof of personhood.” WorldID gives you a secure way to prove you’re human without revealing your identity, personal information, or biometrics.
During the event, you’ll have the opportunity to verify your WorldID using the Orb, a device that checks your humanness by analyzing unique patterns in your iris. Your data is not stored; instead, the Orb generates a mathematical confirmation that you’re a real person.
At the Norris entrance tables, our team will help you:
Understand what WorldID is and how it’s used
Download and set up the World App
Verify your WorldID in a quick, 3–5 minute session
Ask questions about privacy, security, and real-world use cases
Northwestern is one of the only U.S. universities (after Stanford) to host WorldID on campus — so take advantage of this unique opportunity to explore the technology firsthand.
