Climate Deep Tech Research Roundtable #1: How to define climate deep tech?
What makes climate deep tech deep? Where does it end, and does that boundary matter for who gets funded?
Join a small table at Gaffel Haus Berlin on November 18 for the first in a monthly conversation between scientists who build deep tech, investors who fund it, and scholars who study how it gets funded, founded and scaled.
Two seven-minute inputs from work in progress will open the discussion, followed by a roundtable and time to keep talking over drinks. We’ll meet every third Wednesday to check in on current research, with discussion under the Chatham House Rule so participants can share insights without attributing them to individual speakers.
The table welcomes researchers, investors, PhD candidates and postdocs across the natural sciences, engineering, economics, management and information systems.
Bring a question you’re working through or a perspective on where the boundaries of deep tech should sit.
There are 8 seats, and attendance requires approval to keep the conversation small and focused.
Hosted by Jannis Duckek, a PhD candidate at the University of Münster researching how climate deep tech gets funded.
