Inside Radiohead's KID A MNESIA: Art, Film & Interactive Worlds with Matt Davis
This presentation will take us behind the scenes of the creation and evolution of Radiohead’s KID A MNESIA — from the original artwork created during the recording sessions of Kid A and Amnesiac, through the KID A MNESIA Exhibition video game, into the KID A MNESIA film that now sits within the physical Motion Picture House traveling installation.
The presentation will explore how the project came to life, why it evolved across these different formats, and the process behind each transformation. Using original artwork, early layouts, renderings, reference material and work-in-progress content, it will show how the original physical art was translated into a digital environment using Unreal Engine.
It will then follow the project’s next evolution: taking the world and imagery created for the game into film, and determining how that film could best be experienced in a physical space — ultimately becoming Motion Picture House.
The session offers a firsthand look at how one creative project evolved across music, art, game, film and IRL experience — the decisions behind each transformation, what was learned along the way, and the challenges of carrying the same creative world across multiple mediums.
Join us Thursday, 10/22 for a peek into this project, followed by a live Q&A with Matt Davis.
