Living Systems, Machine Nature, and the Future of Public Space with Ronen Tanchum
About this Session
Ronen Tanchum's practice explores how art, technology, nature, and human presence can merge into living public environments. Working across generative systems, AI, real-time data, and immersive installation, his projects transform architecture into responsive spaces shaped by ecological signals, audience movement, and machine perception.
In this conversation, Ronen will discuss recent works including In Bloom and Human Atmospheres, tracing how natural forms, algorithmic processes, and public space can become part of a shared sensory experience. The talk will look at how digital artworks can move beyond screens and spectacle toward environments that feel alive, participatory, and connected to the world around them.
About Ronen
Ronen Tanchum is a contemporary artist working with generative systems, immersive environments, and interactive technologies. His background combines fine art, computational design, software development, and 3D simulation, including contributions to major film and media productions.
He is the founder of Phenomena Labs, a creative studio producing large-scale installations, digital commissions, and generative artworks across both physical and virtual spaces.
Tanchum’s projects use robotics, artificial intelligence, sensors, and real-time algorithms to construct evolving perceptual environments. His work moves between digital and physical realms, treating technology as material to surface behavioral patterns, environmental systems, and emotional responses.
He collaborates with museums, technology platforms, and cultural institutions to develop site-specific installations that invite reflection, interaction, and presence. He leads multidisciplinary teams in creating artworks that reshape our understanding of nature, machines, and human experience. He also lectures on generative aesthetics, digital ethics, and the role of artists in shaping technological culture.
