Build and launch a clean portfolio website while learning to use modern AI coding tools in this half-day hands-on workshop taught by experienced software engineer and Desk Job founder Ari Zade.
This class is designed for anyone who’s curious and wants to build a real, working website. If you already have coding experience, you’ll be able to push the design further and move faster. If you’re newer, the workflow will be guided and beginner-friendly.

Choose a portfolio format (single-page or multi-section)
Use Cursor (AI-assisted code editor) to scaffold your site quickly
Customize layout, sections, colors, images, and typography
Add common portfolio sections like:
About / Bio
Projects / Work
Links (GitHub, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)
Contact
Publish your site so it’s live and shareable

💻 PRE-WORKSHOP SETUP CHECK
Upon signing up, you'll receive detailed instructions for setting up your your laptop's coding environment with a link for scheduling a 15-minute virtual check-in before the workshop. To make sure we spend shop class building (not troubleshooting), we’ll meet virtually 1:1 briefly before the class to confirm your setup is working and ready so we can hit the ground running.

🧑🏫 INSTRUCTOR
This workshop is taught by Ari Zade, founder of Desk Job Design Lab. Ari has a background in software engineering and product design, and previously worked as a senior engineer building products in the tech industry.
