Got a favorite piece of clothing that fits just right—or one that’s worn out but too good to let go? In this hands-on class, you’ll learn how to replicate an existing garment and transform it into a reusable sewing pattern.
We’ll cover how to safely take apart a garment or copy it without cutting, transfer pieces onto pattern paper, adjust fit, and plan for fabric reuse or upcycling. Bring an old favorite, a thrifted find, or something ready for a second life.
This class is ideal for adventurous beginners and intermediate sewists who want to break free from store-bought patterns and start making clothes that actually fit their bodies and values.
What you’ll learn:
How to copy a garment with or without deconstructing it
Creating a custom pattern from existing clothing
Basic fit and seam allowance adjustments
Planning fabric reuse and upcycling strategies
