​About the Event:

​The Future of Us is marking the generational milestone of the US's 250th anniversary by coming together to celebrate community visions, creative expression, and civic voice.

​We can't celebrate "Neighborhood Futures" without celebrating our home neighborhood! This community block party is inspired by our mission to bring our local neighborhood together in creative ways. We're partnering with the Dogpatch Arts & Business Association and Pier 70's Building 12 to bring the community a day of music, art, craft, food, and beer!

​What to Expect:

​Creative Activations

• ​Chalk Art Gallery: 12+ artists are doing a takeover of our street, filling it with visions of what their dream neighborhoods would be! Don't worry, we're holding some spots for you to add your own.

• ​Dogpatch Photo Booth: Get your official Dogpatch portrait, props optional, but always encouraged.

• ​Meet You Neighbors Lounge: Hang out at one of the lounges set-up with conversation prompts and interactions to make it a little easier to spark a connection.

• ​Building 12 Pop-Ups: Check out the pop-up art gallery, artisans, and special events nearby inside Building 12.

​Food, Drinks & Entertainment

• ​Food Trucks: Expect Bay-wide and local favorite food trucks, and a few surprise treats.

• ​Great Beer & Views: Enjoy a drink at Standard Deviant next door, with amazing views of the Bay. If you get there early, they'll probably have World Cup on!

• ​Live Music: We'll have music throughout the evening to keep you moving.

• ​"Patchwork": A Neighborhood Crawl: For the people who live and work in the neighborhood, make sure to check out the first ever Patchwork neighborhood crawl. Earn free "patches" and a tote by getting to know your neighborhood! Register here - event starts at 2pm!

• ​"Neighborhood Futures" Event: The festival's signature programming is happening a 10 minute walk away at The Pearl. Check out 100+ original artworks, conversations from local civic builders and leaders on building community and making an impact in your neighborhood, and enjoy a live DJ on the roof. Register here.

• ​"Sardine Games": From 4-6, head over to an immersive, game-based experience inspired by the Bay's sardine fishery. Register here.

​Planning Your Trip:

​Parking & Transportation
Street parking is available but limited. We recommend rideshare or public transportation. The Block Party is easy to reach by the Third Street Muni and a short walk from the T-Third line.

​Accessibility & Considerations

​Launching on America's 250th anniversary, the inaugural Future of Us festival is a 10-day celebration of civic imagination and possibility. We're turning community-sourced, expert-crafted visions of the future into art, storytelling, and participatory experiences. Curated by a coalition of artists, scientists, storytellers, and civic builders, the festival features 100+ events spanning every corner of the city (floral labyrinths, speculative future worlds, dance parties with a purpose, and neighborhood meet-ups), it's a living exploration of what a more creative and generative civic culture could feel like. Organized around four themes (Green Futures, Social Futures, Science & Tech Futures, and Media Futures), Future of Us is breaking down the barriers between art, ideas, and each other, and everyone is invited to co-imagine what comes next.
