Join us during SXSW week for an evening exploring one of the most profound questions of our time: can machines be conscious?

The ceremony celebrates the 2025 Berggruen Prize Essay Competition winners. Anil Seth, whose essay “The Mythology of Conscious AI” challenges prevailing assumptions about machine consciousness, joins Xin Huang and Xiaoben Liu, whose essays offer bold philosophical perspectives on language, computation, and the future of consciousness.
