Next Frontier AI: Building Europe’s Sovereign AI Powerhouses
Teaser
Europe stands at a crossroads in artificial intelligence. With Next Frontier AI, a new initiative aims to fundamentally reshape the continent’s role in the global AI landscape. Ten elite teams. 24 months. €125 million in non-dilutive funding. The goal is to create up to three AI labs that can raise up to €1 billion each. This session introduces the ambition behind the challenge, its structure, and the long-term vision: building globally competitive frontier AI labs from Europe, for Europe. Together with leading voices, we will explore what it takes to scale such efforts.
Why is this topic relevant?
Frontier AI is rapidly consolidating in a handful of global power centers, raising urgent questions about technological sovereignty, economic competitiveness, and strategic autonomy. Europe risks falling behind—not for lack of talent, but for lack of coordinated ambition and capital at scale. Next Frontier AI directly addresses this gap by combining long-term funding, institutional backing, and venture-scale thinking. For investors, this represents a rare opportunity to engage at the ground floor of Europe’s next generation of AI champions—and to help shape an ecosystem that can compete globally.
The session will take place on the ALGORA Planet at VENTURE SPRIND 2026, held at Futurium in Berlin. You will need a VENTURE SPRIND ticket to enter the venue and attend the session.
