Human Rights and The Energy Transition: A Round Table Discussion

​This multi stakeholder discussion explores why upholding human rights is essential for a successful energy transition.  Given growing concerns about access to strategic minerals to supply the energy of the future, in addition to defence weapons, communications technologies, and other advanced manufacturing applications – we will focus on human rights in the development of strategic minerals supply chains.  Through case study examination and dialogue, participants will consider the role of international human rights norms in setting the path towards a Just Transition, challenges to implementation across regions, and potential solutions for better ensuring their protection in support of achieving common goals and equitable outcomes.
