About Event

TEA Community is honored to host The Flare International New Media Art Event in Vancouver, Canada. In collaboration with UBC Emerging Lab (https://eml.ubc.ca/), we have organized the forum and workshop sections for this event under the theme "The Beauty of Tech-Art."

We are delighted to invite teamLab (https://www.teamlab.art/), one of the most renowned interactive digital art studios in the world. Takeshi Yamada, their head of recruitment, will introduce the concept and technology behind their work. Jimmz Zhang, co-founder of Digital FUN studio (https://www.digitalfun.ca/) and TEA Community, will share his insights on how technology drives digital art from both commercial and educational perspectives.

For the workshop section, Jimmz will present a 3-hour immersive session guiding participants into the captivating realm of TouchDesigner and ComfyUI. By leveraging webcam-based facial expression detection and seamlessly integrating ControlNet, IP-Adapter, and LivePotrait ComfyUI custom nodes, an unparalleled AI-driven interactive experience will be generated.

The entire event will take place on the afternoon of November 21st, featuring a 1.5-hour forum section followed by a 3-hour workshop. While the workshop will be limited to 30 participants, primarily targeting UBC students. We have reserved 10 tickets for the TouchDesigner Vancouver Group.

If you are a member of TDYVR please register here and contact Jonny @ Zspace. @Jonnyostrem on instagram or [email protected] for applying the workshop.

For Participants, previous experience with TouchDesigner and knowledge of AIGC tools such as Stable Diffusion and comfyUI are recommended. If the participants lack experience with TouchDesigner, it would be beneficial for you to explore here: https://learn.derivative.ca/ website, in order to acquire foundational knowledge of TouchDesigner through the 100 series and 200 series tutorials beforehand.
