Gezellig Sessions: Art + Live Music Night

​Our art night is back, now in a new space. Come join, explore live music in an art gallery, and meet the gezellig community 💌

​THE SPACE: Galerie Son is a gallery for international modern and contemporary art located right next to Museum Island, looking straight across at Berliner Dom.

​ART: The current exhibition on display is "2 Portraits" by Zhiyi Liu (China) and Yanggu Heo (South Korea), showing two very different ideas of what a portrait can be - one abstract, one closer to realism - side by side in the same room.

​Feel free to come early and look at the exhibition. There's a courtyard right outside with a view over to the Berliner Dom - a good spot to hang out before things start.

​LIVE MUSIC: At 8 pm, live musicians take over.

• ​Melyna Purba is an Indonesian pianist and composer whose music moves freely between classical, pop and neo-classical worlds. Her playing turns melody into atmosphere - intimate, expressive and made to hit straight in the heart.

• ​Marc Gilodo is a Berlin-based singer, songwriter, and pianist whose music blends the warmth of soul, the intimacy of crooning, and the elegance of jazz-infused pop. Known for his virtuosic piano playing and expressive voice, Marc creates songs that feel timeless yet deeply personal.

• ​Jomila is a Berlin-based German-Canadian indie pop artist known for her clear yet dreamy voice and emotionally honest songwriting. Blending melancholic lyrics with warm stage humor, she creates intimate live experiences that feel both deeply moving and disarmingly light.

​This is a very cosy space and our first time in it - spots are limited. Heads up, seating is on the floor, so feel free to bring a pillow or something comfy to sit on (it's a spotless space, promise).

​PROGRAM:

• ​7 pm - doors open, exhibition viewing.

• ​8 pm - brief welcome, then the music starts.

• ​10 pm - event wrap-up.
