One Operator’s journey through sales, and how it has strengthened my role as a strategic operator.

In this session, Randy Franklin brings a rare dual perspective, rooted in both operations and sales, revealing how alignment between the two can fuel growth and create lasting value across the business.

Randy began his career deeply involved in operations—implementing systems, addressing customer issues and fixing problems from poorly scoped deals. Over time, he came to understand that while operations keep the engine running, growth only occurs when sales are successful. This realization led him into sales leadership, where he experienced firsthand the complexity and bravery required in the selling process. Having worked on both sides of the equation, he’s found that the real strength lies in blending the precision of an operator with the persuasion of a seller. It’s at that intersection—where execution meets opportunity—that the greatest value is created for customers, teams and the business.

Randy has led organizations to stronger EBITDA through cost optimization, asset rationalization and revenue recovery while modernizing platforms and service models across continents. His expertise spans cloud, security and managed services, where he consistently aligns technology investments with measurable business outcomes.
