As the global transition toward renewable energy accelerates, it comes with increasing demands for energy solutions that are reliable, affordable, and foster energy independence.
Battery energy storage systems (BESS) are uniquely positioned to address these demands and are experiencing an unprecedented period of growth, being adopted worldwide to rapidly increase energy availability and expecting to reach a global market value of $150 billion by 2030. In the United States, battery storage is forecasted to add a record-breaking 24 GW of new capacity to the grid this year. And in a dense urban environment like New York City, batteries are becoming even more critical given land constraints.

Emily Wheeler is a clean energy and technology executive with more than 20 years of experience across government, startups, growth-stage companies, and energy infrastructure. As Chief of Staff at NineDot Energy, she oversees Project Development, Construction, Operations, Supply Chain, and Data Management, including an annual budget exceeding $100 million and one of New York City’s largest battery storage portfolios. Since joining NineDot in 2022, Emily has helped grow the company from three co-founders to more than 80 employees.
Mikaela Ringquist, New York Chapter Chair, Women in Cleantech & Sustainability
Director of Partnerships, Climate Change AI
Mikaela Ringquist serves as New York Chapter Chair for Women in Cleantech & Sustainability and Director of Partnerships at Climate Change AI. Previously, she led the United Nations Global Compact’s flagship corporate sustainability campaign, mobilizing more than 1,800 companies around climate action, water stewardship, labor rights, and gender equality. Mikaela also served on the NYC Fair Trade Coalition board and helped open the city’s first Sustainable Fashion Community Center.

Linda Tatlow, Director, NineDot Labs
Linda Tatlow is a Director at NineDot Energy and leads NineDot Labs, where she focuses on policy, utility relations, strategic initiatives, and new business models supporting energy storage in New York City. She also advocates for tariff reforms that enable battery storage to deliver greater value to the grid and ratepayers. Linda previously held roles at Fitch Ratings, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi. She is a CFA charterholder with degrees from NYU and the University of Richmond.
Evelina Stoikou, Head of Battery Technologies and Supply Chains, BloombergNEF
Evelina Stoikou leads BloombergNEF’s battery technologies and supply chains team, which analyzes the battery value chain across technology, pricing, costs, supply chains, markets, and policy. Before joining BloombergNEF, she worked in management consulting and earned a dual degree in Chemistry and Engineering from Dartmouth College and Vassar College.
Lydia Li, Director of Investment, Arevon
Lydia Li is a Director of Investment at Arevon, where she co-leads mergers and acquisitions and oversees the underwriting of the company’s development pipeline, capital allocation strategy, and platform valuation. She previously led sustainable infrastructure investments at Generate Capital and held investment roles at Commonfund Capital and Macquarie Capital. Lydia holds an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management and a B.A. in Government and Economics from Claremont McKenna College.
