Stories From the Soil
Stories from the Soil
A Climate Week New York Workshop by Project 17
What does the climate story look like when it's told from African soil, in African voices, through the eyes of a child? Join Project 17 for Stories from the Soil, an interactive workshop that moves beyond talking about Africa's climate future to actually shaping how that story gets told. Together with educators, NGOs, creatives, and changemakers, we'll explore how African literature, lived experience, and children's voices can reshape the global climate narrative, and leave with practical ways to bring that perspective into our own work.
This is a hands-on gathering, not a lecture. Expect facilitated conversation on African storytelling and climate education, small-group creative sessions, and a first look at Project 17's new children's book. Whether you work in education, climate, publishing, or simply care about Africa's future, you'll find your place in the room. Space is intentionally limited to keep the experience intimate and participatory.
