Techno Romanticism V1
A one-day gallery celebrating the relationship between Humans × Technology.
Technology is usually discussed through data centres, compute, energy and model performance. Techno-Romanticism begins somewhere else: with the curiosity, obsession and imagination that compel people to build in the first place.
We take inspiration from the Romantic movement. Its artists pushed against a world governed only by reason and machinery, placing emotion, nature, imagination and human experience back at the centre.
Techno-Romanticism brings that spirit to the technology around us.
For one day, all three floors of Sanctuary Parc will become a living exhibition of this relationship. Through 10+ installations spanning art, music, food, gaming, finance and robotics, we will explore how technology changes the way we create, remember, move, play and connect.
This is not a conference or a product showcase. Come to wander, participate and encounter technology not only as a tool, but as culture: something shaped by human ambition, imagination and wonder.
A glimpse of what awaits:
1. Moving Cultures Across the City, with Paxi
What happens when childhood nostalgia grows wheels? Paxi transforms a car boot into a travelling Pokémon card shop, carrying rare finds and collector culture across Bengaluru. A pop-up built around cards, chance and the strangers who meet through them.
2. Murmurs of a Quantum Sensor, with Dirac Labs
The Earth has a magnetic memory, and Dirac Labs is learning to read it. Using quantum sensors, it turns the planet’s invisible magnetic fingerprint into a way to navigate without GPS. A machine that finds direction by listening to forces we cannot see.
3. Enter the New Dimension with Dimensional OS
Your body stays in Bengaluru. Your hands travel across the world. Dimensional OS lets you control robots in San Francisco and China, turning distance into something you can touch.
4. Offset of Colors with Panic Press
One colour goes down. Then another lands a little to the side. Panic Press turns this small shift into live screen prints, where every layer leaves a mark and every surprise becomes part of the art.
5. Fantastic Beasts and We Found Them with Dognosis
Dogs live in a world of smells, sounds and signs we miss. With DogSense, Dognosis turns their hidden senses into something we can see. Our oldest friendship just learned a new trick.
6. Unlocking the Deep Sea's Archives with Altcarbon
Our oceans hold more hidden stories than all the land above them. Alt Carbon brings foraminifera: single-celled marine organisms whose shells preserve 500 million years of ocean memory, from ice ages to ancient climates. Peer through the microscope and meet life older than the dinosaurs. Come discover the romance of deep time.
7. The Builder's Bestiary with Ego Monk
Every era mints its own mythology.
Ego Monk is bringing a new lens to mythology, and startup currency for the stories founders tell themselves. Curated and collected carefully.
8. Auditory Embodiment with Maya Research
A holographic, voice-led AI presence that turns conversation into a spatial encounter.
9. Misfits of the Web with Spacekayak
The web was once a strange playground. Meet the odd little websites that refused to behave, made for fun, wonder and no clear reason. The misfits are still online.
10. Rip and Sip with Freshwaters
Pick a drink. Tear open a Pokémon pack. Freshwaters brings collectors and curious strangers to one table, where every card can start a story, a trade or a new friendship.
11. Icecream and Commerce with Cookie
Every future still needs dessert. Cookie turns the rooftop into a one-day ice cream and cookie parlour, with flavours made for Techno-Romanticism. Ideas melt. Cookies crumble. Commerce continues.
12. Takeout and Takeover with Sando Club
Lunch, but the kitchen already knows you. Tell the voice agent what you feel like, and it figures out what to make. Sando Club builds it from there: Bangalore's favourite sandos, assembled by an agent that takes your order and then takes over.
13. The Textures of Sound with Lissn
What does sound look like when you can walk inside it? Step into a utopian jungle grown from audio. Lissin builds an immersive soundscape and narrative experience where the room listens with you and the story moves as you do.
14. Attention is all you have with Offwork
What if culture had a stock market? Offwork turns fonts, launch videos and internet trends into things you can trade. Watch taste rise and fall on a live ticker. The price is your attention.
15. Love and Lore of Gaming with Bangalore Card Show
A small screen once held a very big world. Bangalore Card Show brings back the consoles, games and collectables that made Pokémon a shared language across generations. Press start and meet an old world again.
16. The Draft with Spacekayak
Old drafts, strange objects and unfinished ideas come together to tell the story of Spacekayak. This is our work behind the work.
17. Legacy and Future of Interaction with Alma
First came buttons. Then screens learned to listen. Alma shows the tools that brought people and computers closer. It asks how we may speak to machines next.
18. The Instant Ad Machine
From ad men to ad machines. Give a link and watch a whole agency's month happen in minutes, printed in front of you while the ink is still warm. The future of advertising is a live performance. Take the front row.
Open call for installations
We are accepting proposals from artists, designers, technologists, researchers and independent makers who would like to present an installation, object or experiment at Techno-Romanticism V1.
