Guided tour - Otherwise Residency 2026: Silent Pressures

Silent Pressures is an open-ended showcase of three still-developing art-science projects emerging from Otherwise Residency 2026, Marginal's transdisciplinary programme bringing artists and researchers together around ecological thinking and climate-crisis-related research.

The projects engage with plant metabolisms under abiotic stress, the variable potentials of microalgae, and the persistent fugitive methane emissions from the ageing industrial sites in Romania, tracing subtle processes of transformation that unfold beyond human perception.

Developed in collaboration with researchers from the Institute of Biology Bucharest and 2Celsius, the exhibition of this second run of the residency presents experiments, questions and emerging artistic approaches on the pressures acting upon living systems and the environments we all share.
